About: In it’s most recent election in July, Mexico elected Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador (AMLO) as their next president. In what was a landslide victory, this election was set against an increasingly tense relationship between the United States and Mexico, a call for change in the Mexican political system and a promise by AMLO to take control of Mexico back from “the mafia of power.” What can we expect from the new president? How will this affect domestic policies within Mexico and its relationship with its North American neighbours?
